Apart from the religious significance, the city of Amritsar also offers the vibrance that appeals the enthusiasts who travel in search of liveliness and genres of it like finest foods and joy and fervor. Situated just 28 kilometers from the international border with Pakistan, it also welcomes guests at the popular Wagah border that witnesses an authentic show by the forces personnel as a mark of tradition. If you are also looking to visit Amritsar then do not miss out these attractions!

Golden Temple:- Also known as Harmandar Sahib, Golden Temple is the most revered place for the Sikh community. It attracts large numbers of Sikh pilgrims throughout the year while foreign tourists are also attracted towards its unique charm that builds through the fine architecture and the spiritual feel. Its foundation was laid by a Muslim Saint Hazrat Miyan Mir Ji while the designing was done by Guru Arjan Dev Ji. Baisakhi which is the harvest festival of north India is celebrated with great fervor at Golden Temple when lakhs of devotees and tourists visit the place.

Wagah Border:- Wagah Border is the check post at India Pakistan border in Punjab. The Beating Retreat ceremony which is performed every day before the sunset draws thousands of tourists, both from India and abroad. The military personnel stationed at the Wagah Border offer the programmed performance in the most authentic way that is simply unique in the world. People visiting Amritsar as tourists should never miss it!

Jallianwala Bagh:- Jallianwala Bagh has found exceptional place in Indian history because of the bloody and cowardly act of General Dyer in 1919 before the nation became independent. He ordered his forces for the massacre of innocent civilians that gathered there on baisakhi day. This act was highly criticized including in British administrative circles and General Dyer was relieved from active service. Today, the memorial is visited by tourists who want to get the closer glimpse of what happened there decades ago.
